One of my friends recently gave me a handwritten letter filled with things that could have easily been said in a face to face conversation. I know that if she would have expressed her thoughts in person then I would’ve quickly forgotten her kind words. I am used to getting texts, emails and talking to people one-on-one, but I am definitely not accustomed to receiving handwritten notes. Because of this, I am more grateful for the time and effort that my friend took to write such a heartfelt letter and I find myself reading it over and over again simply because it is a letter that reminds me that someone cares.
I was reflecting on some of the letters I have written, and remembered elementary school and primary because on Father’s Day I was always given a paper and some crayons as my teacher encouraged me to write a letter to my dad. I decided to write letters to all of the father-figures in my life and I can honestly say that it strengthened my testimony and increased the love that I have for those that have fathered me. I immediately changed my mind and I was determined to write to everyone that has had an influence in my life. So, here is a handwritten letter for all of you:
