Change is good!! Recently I have been going through a few changes. Not change like moving homes, countries or anything requiring a U-Haul, but that is not the only type of change that exists. More so, a change of my attitude and well-being. I believe this change, is the most important change a being can undergo. And this change has taught me oh-so-many things. First of all, change has reminded me of the most basic principle, I do not know or understand the things in which my peers are undergoing. It has recently become more clear that I am clueless to the things occurring in most peoples lives. For example, I have been blessed with the ability to be extremely observant. Often times I get frustrated and angry about small simple things, these things often make me hateful and ignorant. Things such as getting cut off in traffic, not receiving an invite, not being acknowledged, people sharing incorrect information and so forth. It is then when I needfully remember to be kind, for I have no idea of many things in this world. I cannot see into the minds of my peers, and because of it I can turn my anger into curiosity. It is a much more fascinating world if I look at the things that anger me as the things that intrigue me. “What do you think that woman was in a race to get to” or maybe “if that person bumped me in the hall, I can introduce myself, maybe they were praying for a friend”. Curiosity is a blessing, and I believe it brings me happiness. Much like my recent change, we must always realize that every person surrounding our lives’ are changing as well. Not only do most of us not know of the things occurring in our peers lives, but we do not understand what they are going through. Empathy is a beautiful thing, but hard to come across. We must never look at a person and believe that they can “do better” or that “they should make this change”. Although it is hard to be pure and to fight judgement, we are blessed when we see others the way Christ sees them. Exactly like our inability to understand what others are going through, others cannot understand what we are going through unless we tell them. It is okay to ask for help, always remember that. Change is a scary, beautiful and exciting thing and we must realize that sometimes change is not for our own benefit, but for the benefit of others. Most importantly, we must realize that our Father in Heaven is aware of every change that we ever have to encounter. He is there to guide us, direct us and help us change for the good of the world. There are too many people in the world afraid and angry at the idea of change, we mustn’t be those ones. Instead we must be the curious.
