I love to write and write in a journal often. We are often told to write about our lives and experiences in a journal, but what if you do not enjoy writing? Do you write a few feeble sentences a year? Or do you not write at all? Here a few suggestions for everyone, whether you struggle to write in a journal or not:
- Picture a Day
Most people have smart phones or cameras. Once a day or once a week you could take a picture of your favorite part of the day/week. If you had a bad day take a picture of the worst part of your day. You can do anything. Your picture can be anything from a flower, the temple, a sibling, or a cut on your knee. You can always take those pictures and make them into a photo book. Make sure you put a small caption with your photos so you remember where it was taken or why you took that particular picture.
- Draw, Paint, and Glue
If you like drawing or painting, you can always draw little pictures to add life to the paper. I love color, so I personally use lots of crayons, pens, and paints. You can always us just a black pen or pencil, but it is always up to you. Also, don’t be afraid to glue pictures, newspaper clippings, and etc. Glitter
is essential would look nice too.
What should I write about?
If you are struggling to write something, here are a few ideas:
- Bucket List
- Favorite book
- Pet Peeves
- Guilty Pleasures
- Places you want to go
- What you are most grateful for
- What do you wonder about
- Favorite Quotes
- Things you find funny
- What scares you most
- Most spiritual experience
The list goes on and on! Also, if you don’t really want to write full sentences, use bullet points. With bullet points you can write lots of thoughts. Don’t feel bad if you have bad grammar and bad spelling in your journal. I am not a very good at spelling. Just write!
Why do you like to write in a journal? Why do you keep a journal?
