As we finished watching the first session of General Conference our internet completely froze. Because we live overseas we must have the internet to watch conference. We had two hours to figure out what was wrong before the second session began. Over here in Amsterdam we get to watch conference a little later due to that blessed time change. The second session would begin at 10 p.m. for us. When 10 p.m. rolled around and we still had no idea what was wrong with our internet we started thinking we would have to postpone watching. It was at this moment that I realized how much we rely on the internet. We couldn’t “search online” for what was wrong. We couldn’t look up our internet provider information and we couldn’t connect to lds.org to watch General Conference.
By this point we had missed the opening song and were trying to think of any other solution. I love General Conference and had some questions I needed answered. I decided to say a silent prayer to Heavenly Father for help. Before I could even finish my prayer our internet switched on and there was General Conference. My husband and I looked at each other and with tears running down my face I told him about my prayer. We both knew that Heavenly Father cared about our little family trying to be obedient with a desire to listen to our Church leaders.
This experience may seem small but to me it has been huge. I’m so grateful to know that not only are our prayers heard but they are also answered.
