Have you ever thought of how many names we have for Jesus Christ?
- The Good Shepard
- Son of God
- The Great Mediator
- Only Begotten Son
- The Bread of Life
- Living Water
And the list goes on and on…..
My favorite is the Bread of life.
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
I love this comparison. Here’s why:
What do we use bread for? We eat it! We are human, and without food we will eventually die. Now, what do we need Christ for? Well, we can use His Atonement. Without the Atonement we will eventually die spiritually.
Think about the Children of Israel. While they were wandering in the wilderness, the Lord provided them with manna each day (except on the Sabbath). In a way I think this was to remind them that without Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ they wouldn’t be there. Because God loved them he delivered them. Because God loves us he gave us His son to deliver us from the chains of sin. How amazing is that?
I challenge you to remember The Bread of Life. Remember Him when you eat, when you pray, when you run, or whatever. Remember and praise your Father in Heaven and your Redeemer.
How can you remember Christ?
