There’s a tale of a man in a suit that’s bright red
He rides on a sleigh pulled by reindeer, it’s said.
He’s got a bag that is quite full of toys
He delivers all night to little girls and boys.
He’s jolly and laughs with a “Ho ho ho”
And he’s often related with things such as snow.
There’s always excitement on Christmas Eve night
Because we remember that’s when he takes flight.
We wake up excited to see what we’ve gotten
We’re pleased to see that we weren’t forgotten.
The man in the red spreads much happiness
But there’s another christmas story that often gets missed.
The boy in this tale doesn’t come in bright red
He doesn’t have reindeer who can pull his sled
He doesn’t have toys to give or receive
He’s easily forgotten on Christmas Eve.
This boy was born in a manger that night
A place that has nothing but still seemed quite bright.
The reason it’s bright, some don’t understand
Most people deny or forget if they can.
Remembered or not, he’s there just the same
This boy, Jesus Christ, is more than a name.
He’s the light of the world, though born in a manger
He’s our redeemer, our friend, and our Savior.
Think of his love that he has for mankind
He healed the sick and gave sight to the blind.
When you think of Christmas, think of that boy
The one in the manger without any toys.
When you think of Christmas, try to remember
and think of him more than just in December.
